Riverdale Season 3: 7 Major Questions That Must Be Answered Before The Finale

5. Is Hiram And Hermione’s Marriage Really Over?

Riverdale has pulled off some crazy stunts over the past three years, but one of its more genuinely shocking moments came when Hiram Lodge revealed that he and Hermione were separating. You'd be hard-pressed to find anyone who didn't think their marriage was toxic, but for some reason, it just seemed like they got each other in their own twisted way. Then again, if you really consider their history, it shouldn't have been that shocking.

Even with his lectures on the importance of family, the town's resident mafia boss was willing to put his wife in danger as long as it served his overall goal. But after being burned too many times, Hermione fought back and attempted to have her husband killed. Despite his reputation, Hiram's subsequent discovery of this did not propel him to retaliate, it genuinely hurt him and, in a rather surprising turn of events, he was the one who decided to end their marriage.

Although Veronica convinced him to maintain a public front for Hermione's own safety, that wasn't enough to stop her parents from having their marriage annulled. But is this really the end for them?

The events that transpired between them would certainly be more than enough to split up any marriage, but these two are formidable enough to withstand each other's heinous actions and still come out stronger. Though Hermione has considered ending things before, she ultimately stuck by her husband. With that in mind, can Hiram find it within himself to do the same?
