Riverdale Season 3: 7 Major Questions That Must Be Answered Before The Finale

4. Is Jughead Capable Of Running His Own Mother Out Of Town?

Gladys Jones' long-teased arrival in Riverdale has certainly shaken things up. Taking over from Hiram Lodge, she began running the town's drug operations, employing the Gargoyles to do her bidding as she turned her family's former home into a drug lab. On the surface, however, she has been playing happy families with ex-husband F.P. and their children Jughead and Jellybean.

Despite her best blackmailing efforts to keep everything hush-hush, it didn't take long for Jughead to figure out exactly what was going on. Though he confronted her over the whole thing, she used F.P.'s happiness to blackmail her son into keeping her secret, telling him that it would destroy his father if he discovered the truth.

While that hasn't stopped Jug from utilising his Serpents to hinder her operations, it has only managed to slow her down. Somehow, Gladys is always one step ahead of him and due to her son's reckless (but admirable) actions, she now has F.P. breathing down his neck as well. This, of course, has left us all wondering if Jughead can actually keep his word and run her out of town?

As we've seen in the past with Hiram Lodge, these one-dimensional villains have a knack for staying on top and, as a result, end up sticking around even after their debut season. With that in mind, it's possible that we may not get to see Jughead remove her from his life after all - in spite of the fact that it really should happen.
