Riverdale Season 3: 7 Major Questions That Must Be Answered Before The Finale
6. Are Veronica And Reggie Ever Going To Be A Couple?
At one point, it was hard to imagine Veronica Lodge with anyone other than Archie Andrews. But after she and Reggie Mantle began looking after The Speakeasy like protective parents, it was only a matter of time until their working relationship blossomed into something more. Since then, however, they have been stuck in an endless 'will they/won't they' cycle with their relationship failing to really progress.
Reggie has made it clear that he (understandably) wants to be more than just her second-in-command at work and "bit of fun" behind closed doors, while Veronica has made it clear that she (also understandably) isn't ready to commit to another long-term relationship after her break-up with Archie. This eventually led Reggie to end whatever the thing between them was in an amicable fashion. But is this just the writers’ attempt to drag it out a little longer or have the pair officially broken things off?
The Reggie and Veronica saga is very much a product of this season and, as it currently stands, it should remain that way. It simply wouldn't have worked in any other environment than the one the show created this year and, unless the pair finally get together in a more official manner before the season comes to an end, the writers should let go of it altogether. Having said that, if they do make things official, that could pave the way for more intriguing stories next season.
