Riverdale Season 3 Finale: 8 Ups & 3 Downs From 'Survive The Night'

3. Alice Knew All Along

Once upon a time, Alice Cooper was the definition of a badass mom. Strong, independent and determined, she always supported her children and never backed down in the face of adversity. Similarly, in her job as a reporter, she refused to let anything prevent her from getting to the truth and always went that extra mile to obtain the facts. However, in spite of all that character depth, she was nothing short of intolerable in Season 3.

Falling head over heels in love with both The Farm and its leader Edgar Evernever, Alice began acting out-of-character, sacrificing her entire life so that she could fulfil Edgar's wishes. With that in mind, you can see why it was hard to watch this once-great character become nothing more than a lifeless caricature devoted to The Farm.

Thankfully, the season finale confirmed that she was merely playing along this whole time. That's right, after showing us that she was determined to protect her loved ones by helping Cheryl and Juniper escape The Farm, an FBI Agent (later revealed to be her long-lost son Charles) told Betty and Jughead that she had been working as an informant for them, gathering intel on Edgar's scheme.

Undoubtedly music to the ears of the vast majority of Riverdale fans, it's good to know that it was all a front and that, next season, we'll finally get the opportunity to see Alice back to her empowered (and badass) self.
