Sarah Wayne Callies cast in THE WALKING DEAD
Prison Break hottie joins AMC's adaptation of the zombie comic-book
The TV adaptation of Robert Kirkman's zombie comic-book The Walking Dead has already cast British actor Andrew Lincoln (This Life, Teachers) as small-town hero cop Rick Grimes, but now Sarah Wayne Callies (Prison Break) has joined the production as his character's wife, "slowly unravelling" Loris Grimes. The 32-year-old actress is best known for her role as Dr. Sara Tancredi on Fox's Prison Break, where her character was controversially decapitated in the third season, yet returned for the fourth. The Walking Dead, adapted by writer-director Frank Darabont (The Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile), begins shooting in June and will air a six-part season this October on AMC. The project is co-produced by Gale Anne Hurd, David Alpert and Charles Eglee.
