Scream: 10 Problems Season 2 Needs To Fix

9. Fewer Fake Out Scenes

This is a problem inherent in not killing anybody off, but the sheer volume of fake out scenes in this show is downright laughable. All throughout the series, these teenagers keep almost getting killed, but then the writers chicken out and refuse to do it. The show wants to have its cake and eat it too, indulging in scenes of characters being confronted by the killer but without actually having to sacrifice them.

Take the Brooke freezer scene from the finale. It initially looks to be a genuinely memorable slasher death, something this show has had a severe lack of. A person hides in an unplugged freezer, but the killer locks the door, plugs it in, and leaves the person to freeze to death. That is awesome, but it's ruined because conveniently, Brooke's friends arrive just in time to save her, and everything's fine. God forbid this slasher TV show have any death.

That wasn't even the first Brooke fake out; she also had that garage sequence in the pilot where she walks in, the lights go out, and then...nothing happens.  There was also the sequence at the school where the killer confronts her and then just gives her a superficial injury. This show is going to get old so quickly if it keeps refusing to off anyone and expects people almost dying to be enough.
