Scream: 10 Problems Season 2 Needs To Fix
7. Less Stupid Police
Horror films often have really dumb police and authority figures in general, but Scream has got to be the absolute worst offender at that in years. Look no further than the end of the third episode. In this one, the killer is going after Riley, who's at the police station. Meanwhile, the police go to save Brooke, and apparently they send literally every officer in all of Lakewood, because Riley is left at the station completely alone.
Yeah, the show cuts to Riley sitting in a totally empty police station in a town where a killer is on the loose. She heads outside, once again without a single officer in sight, and when she’s being chased by the killer, she screams for help at the top of her lungs. Nothing. This is at what should be the safest place in the whole town, yet nobody notices her until she’s on the roof dead.
Then there’s the general fact that the police pretty much don’t solve anything for the entire season, and nearly all the information that's uncovered happens because of these high school kids snooping around. It all becomes way too ridiculous to buy, and Season 2 needs a police force that isn’t this insanely dumb.
