Scream: 12 WTF Moments From Episode 2

1. Did You Just Lock Me In Or Out?

This last scene of this episode is downright awesome. It’s the best moment of the series so far, and the closest the show has gotten to matching the original films.

Emma’s at home when her alarm goes off and she sees the kitchen door is open. She gets a call apparently from someone at the security company, but it’s clear this is actually the killer messing around with her. The guy on the phone starts making conversation with her that gets weirder and weirder, bringing up TV shows and horror movies just like Ghostface loves to do. Similar to the moment in the original Scream where Ghostface says “I want to know who I’m looking at,” Emma says she’s barely been sleeping and the guy on the phone responds by saying, “You do look tired.” Holy crap.

And then the best moment of the episode: she closes the window and the guy on the phone says, “What you should really be asking is, did you just lock me in or out?” Amazing. He reiterates that he’s going to expose Emma for who she really is and that she’ll be seeing more of him soon.

It’s an incredible closing sequence that really feels like something out of the movies, and though this episode had lots of low moments, this alone was enough to redeem the whole thing.
