Scrubs: 10 Worst Characters Who Appeared After Season 1
1. Taylor Maddox
First Appearance: Season 8 Episode 1 - My Jerks
When Bob Kelso stepped down as Chief Of Medicine at Sacred Heart, it seemed fitting that his replacement would be the series' great antihero Dr. Cox.
Bursting onto the scene in the season eight opener was Courtney Cox as the no-nonsense new C.O.M Taylor Maddox, whose immediate approach to patients and staff initially won everyone over.
But the mask of kindness soon wore off, and her firing of The Janitor was the first canary in the coal mine. Later her incredulous and obtuse nature to how the hospital professionals treated their patients made her an entirely new loathsome character.
Of all the quirky, interesting traits the Scrubs writers gave all the other doctors at Sacred Heart, it's a shame Taylor had to be remembered as the aloof, money-grubbing psychopath. Her farewell might have also been a straight-laced and blunt exit with a somewhat cold rant, but the show put a cherry on top when she warned her replacement would be just like her - only for it to be Dr Cox, her exact opposite.
Taylor's short-lived run on the show might have just been a blip across the span of the entire show, but seeing as how Dr. Cox becomes Chief of Medicine immediately after, it almost makes you question why Taylor Maddox had to be introduced at all.
