7. He Asked For Turk Not To Operate On Him
One of the first facts learned about John Dorian is that Chris Turk was his best friend. They roomed together in college, med school, and had been utterly inseparable since. They were so close that JD even managed to sneak onto Turk and Carla's honeymoon so they didn't have to be apart for too long.
However, that doesn't mean that there were never any bumps in the road. JD has had his moments of being a bad friend throughout the years, one of which came when he needed surgery. Turk was scheduled to perform the appendectomy, but JD asked if someone else could perform the operation instead.
Since they had known each other from being in college together, he couldn't help but see his friend as his crazy frat brother. Despite the fact that he was a qualified surgeon, JD didn't trust him to take his job seriously enough, and so he asked that Turk be taken from the job without even talking to him about it first.
Turk may have been immature, and though JD cited the fact that he spent all day being a walrus with straws coming out of his nose, even he couldn't tell Carla about it without laughing. The fact is that Turk was a damn good surgeon, and if it wasn't for the threat of JD's appendix bursting and Turk coincidentally being the one on call, who's to say when he would have actually started to trust his friend to do his job properly?
