David Lynch creates nonlinear narratives that often leave audiences with a plethora of questions - but most of all, people are fascinated to find out more about the man behind the masterpieces, specifically (and simply): What is it like to work with the prolific director?

The cast attempted to answer the long-standing inquiry, as they opened up about their personal experiences collaborating with the modern-day master. Matthew Lillard revealed:

“He has this incredible sense of joy about him. He has this peace about him, and he has a vision of what he wants. He’s a fantastic human being, so it’s actually an easy answer.”

Kyle MacLachlan, who has worked with Lynch on and off since 1984’s Dune, bolstered these comments while sharing his own take, full of equal praise and admiration:

“His belief in his process and his vision and his point of view is so profound and focused that he inspires me. […] He follows this dream in his mind and I find that inspirational in my life: to go after the thing I believe in the strongest.”

Don Murray, who appears as Bushnell Mullins (the head of Lucky 7 Insurance) in the limited event series, added another damn good appraisal to Lynch’s growing repertoire, as he explained:

“He really shows great appreciation for other people’s work. And that’s one thing we all like is to be appreciated. You go home at the end of a day’s work with David and you feel better about yourself and about the world for having had that experience.”

To which, the whole cast reportedly nodded in agreement before a round of applause erupted through the room.
