Secret Invasion Episode 1 Review - 7 Ups & 3 Downs

When the Hulk snapped his fingers and brought back the billions of souls that Thanos had eradicated five years earlier, it was of course seen as an absolute win. However, it was never quite as simple as Avengers: Endgame made it seem.

Throughout different moments in Phase Four the franchise has explored further the aftermath of the Blip. Those five years were tough for everyone, whether they were snapped or not, and to call it a mere blip doesn’t do justice to the trauma and damage most people suffered.

Secret Invasion has finally touched upon how Thanos’ snap affected Nick Fury, previously the calmest and the most unshakeable man in the room. Now however, after being dead for five years, and seeing his Avengers lose the biggest battle they had ever faced, he suffered a crisis faith. Even heading into space couldn’t ease his conscience, and so he found himself back on Earth.

Secret Invasion shows how life simply could never go back to how it was before Thanos. The Blip changed people - even the greatest heroes of the MCU.
