Secret Invasion Episode 2 Review - 7 Ups & 3 Downs

3. Up - Another MCU Academy Award Winner

Nick Fury Secret Invasion

The Black Panther cast is simply bursting with Academy Award winners, while the likes of Angelina Jolie, Brie Larson, Rachel Weisz, and many more with an Oscar to their name have lent their talents to the Marvel Cinematic Universe over the years.

With Secret Invasion comes the next in this long line. Olivia Colman has hauled in three Oscars since 2019, and is a more than welcome addition to the MCU as Sonya Falsworth. While she made her first appearance in episode one, it was the second episode where she was able to shine and steal the show.

Sonya feels like something of a mirror image of Nick Fury, but kind of better in every way. She is cool and collected, clearly not afraid to get her hands dirty, and thanks to the smile on her face throughout, she is pretty terrifying.

Kingsley Ben-Adir also enjoyed more screen time in the second episode, while fellow newbie Emilia Clarke took more of a back seat role, but it was Colman who made the biggest impact. She has elevated any scene she has been in so far, and there's no reason to think this won't continue.
