Secret Invasion Episode 3 Review - 6 Ups & 4 Downs

6. Up - Gravik's Endgame

There has been quite a spectrum of villains and their plans and motivations throughout the history of the MCU. Even Zemo, who was a charismatic and compelling villain, had a quite ridiculous plan, but that's not the case for Gravik.

The newly elected Skrull General has been a credit to the series so far, and while his reasoning has been apparent from the very start, Betrayed saw him properly spell out his intentions for Earth, and how he intends to take it over.

The plan, at least in theory, is elegantly simple. Plunge the world into chaos with fake terrorist attacks, and under the guise of World War 3, infiltrate and take down the human race. Gravik is clearly a smart man, and isn't trying to overcomplicate anything. His plan is something that you could easily see working, and is made all the more mouth-watering by the concept of the Super Skrull.

Gravik's scientists have been working on granting the Skrulls powers as well as the ability to take faces. In episode two, there were suggestions that they were working on acquiring the powers of Groot, a Frost Beast, Cull Obsidian, and that of Extremis. This could make for one hell of a final battle.
