Secret Invasion Episode 3 Review - 6 Ups & 4 Downs

2. Up - More Mistrust

Secret Invasion Nick Fury
Marvel Studios

It's been said before, that the entire premise of this series is that you don't know who to trust. Literally anybody could be a Skrull at this point.

After episode three however, there has been a new kind of mistrust introduced, which is Skrulls impersonating other Skrulls. Talos impersonated Bob to call off the attack after he got the password from G'iah, but the biggest scene in regards to this was when Gravik spoke to Talos.

In a classic power move, when Talos moved to threaten Gravik the entire restaurant stood and changed into Gravik's form. This was obviously to show that the Skrull General was in control, but it also showed that no one can even trust that Gravik is actually Gravik.

Imagine Talos discovers G'iah's body and goes to confront and kill her killer, only to find that it was just one of his henchmen disguised as him. It's the ultimate layer of protection. Think how Natalie Portman and Keira Knightly swapped round in The Phantom Menace, but on an even greater scale. This just made Gravik that bit more dangerous.
