Secret Invasion Episode 5 Review - 5 Ups & 4 Downs

5. Up - More Action

Secret Invasion Nick Fury
Marvel Studios

The last few episodes of Secret Invasion - really all four of the previous episodes - have told the story of the series in a very deliberate and slow manner. There is nothing wrong with this in theory - if the slow build is paid off by the end of the series, but there is always a risk that this won't happen.

As said before, it was imperative that episode five kicked the series up a notch, which it did from the very first scene. The emergency of the President in the hospital, and the direct consequence of Gravik's attack set the tone immediately. From there, this became the most action-heavy episode yet.

"Beloved" may have had the attack on the President, but everyone got in on the action spread throughout the entirety of "Harvest". Not only was there a step up in on-screen excitement, but there was also a considerable step up in brutality.
