Sex Education Season 3: 12 Questions That Must Be Answered
3. Will Aimee's Trauma Continue To Affect Her?
Season 2 spent some valuable time exploring a sexual assault storyline with Aimee, who didn’t even realise she’d been assaulted at first. Maeve helped her to come to terms with this, though it took some time as Aimee kept dismissing it as nothing serious.
Eventually, it all become too much and Aimee found it hard to get on the bus (where the incident happened) and kept seeing the perpetrator. It affected every aspect of her life.
While in detention, Aimee admitted that she was struggling and the girls bonded over the sexual assault and harassment that they’ve all experienced, which makes Aimee feel less alone. At the end, they all come together to help her get on the bus.
Despite this, trauma still lasts. Hopefully season 3 will continue to explore how the incident still Affects Aimee. It wouldn’t be surprising if Sex Education went deeper to further demonstrate what exactly sexual assault and harassment can look like, as not many people know what it consists of.
