She-Hulk: Attorney At Law Episode Five Review - 6 Ups & 3 Downs
4. Up - No Cameos
The series is called She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, and though Tatiana Maslany’s character has been solidified as a fantastic character that has a bright future in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, she has unfortunately been somewhat outshone for a lot of the series so far.
First it was Bruce Banner, whose appearance was always likely to be something of a spotlight stealer. The same could be said about Emil Blonsky, with Tim Roth showing his face on MCU screens for the first time in 14 years, and of course, everybody loves Wong. Though a cameo here and there is always good fun, this series throughout the first four episodes seemed to rely too heavily on them.
They didn’t ever let She-Hulk be the star of the show because fans were just focused on the special guest star of the week. Not in episode five. It shouldn’t have taken until halfway through the season to give Jen the spotlight without having to fight for it from a huge MCU cameo, but it finally happened this week.
Yes, there is the one highly anticipated cameo that fans cannot wait for still to come, but outside of this it feels like toning down the cameos is the way to go. This episode was surprisingly refreshing in this regard.
