She-Hulk: Attorney At Law Episode Five Review - 6 Ups & 3 Downs

3. Up - A Parade Of Idiots

There is a difference between having Jen’s appearance slated by Nikki, Ms. Book, Titania, and Luke, and putting her in a scenario in which she is forced to relive a string of embarrassing dates. One is just mean, and got very old very quickly, while the other at least served a purpose and managed to bring some humour as well.

In her case against Titania, Jen needed to prove a clear pattern of using the She-Hulk name herself. This ultimately came in the form of bringing everyone she dated in the previous episode as She-Hulk in a parade of the shockingly poor quality of men she was happy to give her time to, not to mention her cringeworthy ‘about me’ section.

There was the guy who seemed threatened by her strength, the guy who was so obsessed with being a writer he couldn’t speak a sentence without mentioning the fact that he was a writer, the creep who seemed to want to pierce her skin with vibranium, and the guy who walked out on her when he saw her as Jen.

This was funny, not least because it was Jen putting herself through this, but it also showed that she was willing to do anything to win her case. Even though she technically wasn’t the lawyer in the scenario at the time, she was damn good one. Ms. Book didn’t know any other lawyer who would humiliate themselves so much to win a case.
