7. Down - That Cameo

The fourth wall breaking in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law has been an unexpectedly fun addition to the series. In episode three, Jen spoke once again to the camera, this time concerning the cameos of the series.

Early on, Wong’s name had already been mentioned several times, and she acknowledged that everyone watching couldn’t wait to see him. However, this won’t be a ‘cameo every week’ show, and we should all remember who the star of the show is. Fast forward to the body of the episode, and the build-up to a cameo from Megan Thee Stallion begins.

This takes over a fair chunk of the episode, and to say that Jen herself downplayed the whole cameo thing just minutes earlier, this is a massive Down. Remember in Game of Thrones when Ed Sheeran randomly rocked up and it distracted everyone from the entire scene? This was the same.

No one needed to see this cameo, it’s on Elon Musk in Iron Man 2 levels, no one needed to see her teaching She-Hulk how to twerk, and why on Earth would she be Jen’s client anyway? She is the head of the Superhuman Law Division. The point was made by the episode itself earlier, so why is she now representing Megan Thee Stallion? There is shoehorning in a cameo, and then there is this.
