She-Hulk: Attorney At Law Episode Two Review - 7 Ups And 4 Downs

5. Up - Tim Roth's Return As Emil Blonsky

She-Hulk Tim Roth

It has been 14 years since Tim Roth graced the Marvel Cinematic Universe with his presence. Since then, a LOT has changed, the franchise is not the same beast as it was back then, and certainly Blonsky shouldn’t have been the same person after so long.

While there is yet to be any actual Abomination shown in She-Hulk, it left more room for Blonsky himself, which meant more time for Tim Roth who in his limited time on screen so far has been an utter delight.

There is still the reminiscence of the ruthless mercenary from 14 years prior, but he is undoubtedly different. There are layers to the character, some of which may be deception, some may not. It’s hard to tell what is genuine and what he’s putting on for Jen right now and that’s kind of what makes him so compelling. That and you can actually start to feel sympathy for him.

He was built up as something of a Hannibal Lecter character, something that surely everyone was thinking in the moment before the show hilariously called it out and shut it down instantly. This dynamic worked, and this writer for one can’t wait to see more of it over the coming weeks.
