She-Hulk: Attorney At Law Episode Two Review - 7 Ups And 4 Downs

6. Up - The Shang-Chi Connection

She-Hulk Tim Roth

The Incredible Hulk has largely been the black sheep of the MCU since its release in 2008. It wasn’t until 2016 that Thaddeus Ross was brought back into the franchise, Betty Ross has been completely forgotten except for one episode of What If…?, and until last year, so had Emil Blonsky.

The Abomination, seemingly randomly, cropped up during Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, taking part in the underground fighting tournament having his ass kicked by Wong. There was no explanation for this at the time, but now there is, and it’s fantastic.

More on Tim Roth as Emil Blonsky shortly, but suffice to say that the scene in Shang-Chi stuck out like a sore thumb. How was he there when he’s been locked up for so long? Why was there? What is his relationship with Wong and what will it lead to?

Granted, episode two of She-Hulk only answered the first question, but like when episode one explained how Bruce could be in human form during the Shang-Chi post credit scene, this at least made sense of one seemingly loose MCU end. And who wants all their questions answered straight away anyway? We know Wong is set to appear in the series, this was just a nice, juicy set up.
