6. Tom Was A Sniper

Molly's bad history of boyfriends was mentioned by Sherlock; okay, she only actually had the one boyfriend, but he did turn out to be the most dangerous criminal mastermind that the planet had ever seen. Latest love Tom however certainly resembles the sniper that was waiting in the window for Sherlock to jump. It would be an ingenious plan, to dress up as Sherlock as to put him off figuring out who you are, and if you want to get closer to the man himself, do what the professionals do: it was a plan that worked wonders for Jim. Unfortunately, as neat as this theory is, there are as many reasons why it's not true as why it is. Tom comes across as a bit of an idiot; to paraquote Sherlock himself, are those really the actions of a criminal mastermind? Mycroft himself was standing right behind that particular sniper, ready to tell him to step down from his position, so he'd recognise him at least. Oh, and then there's the tiny detail that Tom and Molly actually split up. It may not have lasted, but it was, apparently, a normal relationship for poor Miss Hooper.
