Sherlock: 10 Crazy Twists That Would Turn The Show Upside Down
5. John Has Dreamt Up Everything As Escapism
John Watson is a man attracted to danger. His psychotherapist tells him to keep a blog. What if his blog is actually... all of this? It would explain how Sherlock is often, completely unbelievably bonkers, and high-octane. John could be dreaming of a best friend for himself, because he's so alone; the story picks up two years later with a new love interest - someone that he'd love to actually meet - and nothing's happened in between, and the story could just be a fabrication to please his shrink. Or, that's complete nonsense and an insult to the character. It would be an elaborate way to end the series, but it doesn't explain why he's usually the butt of jokes, why he's not actually the hero, and why he's writing a blog if the whole story is a blog: is this blogception or something? This may be the kind of story that John likes, but the truth is, he's living in it. It's a cop-out to think otherwise.
