Series 3 has really stepped up in terms of production values and ambition, which is quite a feat considering how incredible the show was already. The Mind Palace scene in 'His Last Vow' is definitely a highlight of the series. Sherlock has three seconds to save his life, and does so with the help of Molly in his head, telling him to fall backwards, Moriarty telling him that he doesn't have to fear pain, and Mycroft sending him towards a calming memory. We find out who Redbeard is, and it's a touching, nervy and beautiful sequence, as Sherlock fights for his life. The dog who plays Redbeard actually belongs to Martin Freeman too; that's on top of Mary being played by his real-life partner, Steven Moffat's son playing young Sherlock and Mark Gatiss's husband appearing in 'The Reichenbach Fall'. Talk about keeping it in the family.
