2. A New Villain Planted The Gif To Scare Everyone

If Moffat and co really do want to move on with the show, and bury Moriarty, it's probably mixed signals to end Series 3 with Andrew Scott's face grinning across every screen in the world. But what if a new super-villain is using this image to bring Sherlock Holmes back to London? We could be facing another arch-nemesis, someone that can match Sherlock as much as Jim did, and someone who can scare everyone with a screen, whilst remaining able to hide in plain sight. It's an explosive way to kick off a character's story; and if they delve more into Sherlock's own demons €“ as Series 3 has done via the mind palace €“ Moriarty would be a good place to start. Which leads me onto my final proposal...
