Sherlock Series 4: 10 Things You Need To Know
4. Things Will Reach A Climax
From when Moriarty was revealed to have apparently faked his own death in the final moments of Series Three, it was clear that the next series would ramp things up to the next level. Now that we are getting closer to the new series, we know that it will act as the “climax” of the show so far. At least, according to this official BBC statement:
Ghosts of the past are rising in the lives of Sherlock Holmes and John Watson, bringing adventure, romance and terror in their wake. This is the story we’ve been telling from the beginning. A story about to reach its climax...
Presumably, this at least means that Sherlock and Moriarty’s battle of the wits will properly come to an end. But what other story threads could be wrapped up? Will we find out what caused Sherlock to become the way he is? Will Sherlock and John’s friendship break apart?
With the added darkness, character conflicts and now this, they are clearly going all out to make this the most dramatic and exciting run of Sherlock we have ever had. Unfortunately, there might be a very good reason for that.
