Sherlock Special: 10 Major Things We Learnt From The New Trailer
1. It Will Air On New Year's Day
Since the special was announced, it has been assumed that it would air at Christmastime, but actually this trailer reveals that The Abominable Bride will be broadcast a week later on New Year's Day. This shouldn't be too surprising, really. January 1st is the usual home of Sherlock; the show has premiered on that date in the UK for the past two series.
US fans will be pleased to know that for the first time ever for Sherlock, the special will air on the same day as in the UK. It has also been announced that it will be simulcast (that's a fancy way of saying 'simultaneously broadcast') in cinemas worldwide. Sherlock has always been a cinematic show, in terms of look and length, so it's nice to know that you can finally watch it on the big screen.
