Any show that reaches the landmark of a quarter century deserves to be lavished with praise and love. While the previously discussed diminishing quality is impossible to ignore, the show was possibly the best show in the world for at least a third of its run - longer than most shows last. There was plenty to celebrate in the shows 25th year, with one off specials, documentaries and classic episodes to gaze upon. Its easy to bash a show for milking every last drop possible from its material, but as witnessed recently with the untimely passing of voice talent Marcia Wallace, there is still a whole lot of love out there for The Simpsons. It will be a sad day when 742 Evergreen Terrace closes its front door for the last time, but 'til then lets hope there are plenty more pleasing important moments to add to the list. As a pretty nerdy guy, I've loved film and television since I was a wee lad. Growing up in Ireland, The Den was the show to watch with it playing Batman The Animated Series, Star Trek: The Next Generation and everything in between. I have an MA in Radio and Television Production and have written for various sites, hope you enjoy my articles/lists for What Culture!
