James Bont is a parody of Ian Fleming's secret agent spy James Bond and appears in the Simpsons episode "You Only Move Twice". In this episode, the Simpsons move to Cypress Creek when Homer is offered a dream job working for Hank Scorpio, who is very amiable but is in fact an evil genius. A parody of Sean Connery's 007 is depicted in a scene that is a clear nod to one of the film series' most famous moments, as Bont finds himself at the mercy of Scorpio, strapped to a table with a laser moving ever closer to his groin. As Connery does in the film, Bont manages to escape, but is tripped up by an oblivious Homer (who mistakes him as 'a loafer') and promptly executed by Scorpio's guards. Homer wins favour with Scorpio as a result, and the two develop a close bond, yet the slow-witted Simpson is completely blind to his boss's evil schemes to take over the world.
