The only episode on this list from a later series, Eeny Teeny Maya Moe shows that sometimes the newer episodes of The Simpsons can show an emotional side. Moe Szyslak isn't the most fortunate character of The Simpsons, a tragic and openly ridiculed fool considered to be a grotesque by his fellow Springfield residents, who barely tolerate him. But all that changes when he meets Maya, a woman he met over the internet who also has dwarfism. Though he wonders at first what his friends will think, he introduces her to Homer and Marge and everything goes well. Eventually he asks her to marry him, and she seems inclined to say yes until some insensitive words from Moe change her mind. Moe tries to win her back, but it's too late. Mourning Maya's departure while cleaning his bar, Homer gives him some sound advice: "Sometime, when you least expect it, you'll realize that someone loved you. And that means that someone can love you again! And that'll make you smile." Moe hears his words, staring at a picture of Maya with a sad smile. "Who'd have thought that such a little woman could make me feel so big?" he asks, showing that even for Moe there is hope to find love in the future.
