The Simpsons: Edna Krabappel’s 10 Greatest Moments

5. Edna's Balloon-Popping 'Fever' Routine €“ Screaming Yellow Honkers

Edna Fever The school talent show is maybe not the best place for Edna Krabappel to show off her curves, and eventually every last one of them once all the balloons had popped, but the woman had guts. She even managed to fit in her trademark "Ha!" into the number, and a quick search on the interwebs will find honest-to-God MP3s of her version of 'Fever' by Little Willie John. One moment of confusion €“ Homer in a previous episode, 'Bart The Lover', displays an urge to go to parents night once he sees a risque snap of Edna, yet here he claims - "I saw Krabappel's butt, I paid!" - as a justification for the theft of the school's orange drink refreshments for the car ride home. Continuity, please! Also, considering Edna was eventually suspended for hitting Bart, one can't help but question Skinner's judgement for allowing such an X-rated show on his school's stage. Again, the Continuity Police are out to get you, Simpsons writers! The shocked expressions of the parents make this scene perfect and it can only be assumed that Edna pours on the sweet talk come parents night, or that she only talks to the fathers. For each balloon popping, imagine the sound of another jaw dropping to the ground. Some of the fathers may have been uncomfortably shifting in their chairs, hoping their wives didn't catch the delight in their eyes.
