Much like so many shows of a similar time, some of the guest stars of Smallville have gone on to become huge stars in the entertainment industry here in 2020.

Case in point: Amy Adams.

These days, Amy Adams is a six-time Academy Award nominee and somebody who has impressed in the likes of Arrival, Vice, American Hustle, Junebug, and Man of Steel. But back in 2001, Adams' fledgling career saw her make a memorable solitary appearance in Smallvile as Jodi Melville.

Like so many of the 'freak of the week' sorts Smallville featured throughout its first few seasons, Jodi was someone who had an unfortunate run in with the meteor rocks which had accompanied Clark Kent's arrival on Earth.

For Jodi, she ends up chugging her way through a bunch of vegetable shakes comprising of veggies contaminated by said meteor rocks. As such, this gave her an added boost in her mission to shed some lbs - to the extent where her weight loss is so sudden and impactful that she has to turn to sucking the fat out of people in order to satiate her appetite.

Even without the knowledge that Amy Adams would go on to become an A-lister, Jodi stands out as one of the more memorable one-off characters to have graced Smallville's ten seasons.
