Smallville: 10 Best Characters Only In One Episode

6. Mikhail Mxyzptlk

Booster Gold Smallville
The CW

The single appearance from Trent Ford's Mikhail Mxyzptlk is notable and fondly remembered for a couple of big reasons.

Not only did Mikhail's presence give Smallville its own unique take on fan favourite DC Comics villain Mister Mxyzptlk, but it also led to one of the most memorable moments in Smallville history. That moment would be the conclusion of the 'Jinx' episode in which Mxyzptlk gives Clark a life or death ultimatum to make.

Using his mind control abilities to fix football games, a major spanner is thrown into Mxyzptlk's plan in the shape of Chloe Sullivan. With Mxyzptlk betting against the Smallville Crows, Chloe jamming Mxyzptlk's abilities result in the Crows being one touchdown away from victory. Deciding to take matters into his own hands, Mxy puts a knife to Chloe's throat and informs Clark that he'll kill her should the Crows not throw the game.

Being the hero that he is, this leads to Clark throwing the final pass of the game, superspeeding off to take out Mxyzptlk, rescuing Chloe, and zipping back to the field to complete the final play of the game - as the Smallville Crows edge to victory.

For poor Mxy, he was sentenced to a stint in Lex Luthor's lab, never to be seen again.
