2. Leverage On Marks

This one felt like a real misstep right out of the gate. Jax told the preacher's wife that the only way to get Marks off their back was to pressure him with leverage, and to do that they were going to frame him for the murder of her husband (which he told the wife had actually been committed by Marks) and threaten him with the evidence and a statement for the District Attorney. When SAMCRO sat at the table, the president thanked them for their loyalty and sacrifice and told them that Marks was far too powerful to deal with in the usual manner, and that this was their best chance. But someone with as much political clout as Marks has accumulated would always be a threat to the club as long as he was still breathing, so Jax's decision here was surprising. August Marks was very clear with Jax earlier in the season: He has no remorse and will show no mercy should the Sons cross him. Now we know he means business...
