Sons Of Anarchy 7.1 - 5 Talking Points From The Season Premiere

3. A War Is Brewing

Thus far in the series, nearly all the violent conflicts that the Sons have been involved in have been centered around business dealings, political plays to forge new alliances and strengthen old ones, with the occasional personal vendetta thrown in the mix. If this show has taught us anything, it's that the life these men lead rarely ends well for anyone. For the entire first two acts of the premiere we're left to believe that Jax is attempting to mend feces between SAMCRO, the Mayans and the Chinese. He arranges a sitdown meeting with Nero, Alvarez and Lin to explain his position and actions and to extend an olive branch, But we soon learn that the plan was never about peace, it was all a ploy to get his hands on the men he feels are responsible for Tara's death. Sons of Anarchy consists of seasons structured with the club put in seemingly inescapable positions of jeopardy, only to see them climb from the abyss via some brilliant tactical maneuvering. We have a feeling this time will be different, not only because it's the last season, but because the president isn't thinking with a clear head and he's letting his bloodthirst for revenge cloud his judgement. How things play out between the Sons, the Mayans, the Chinese, August Marks and the Niners not to mention the Irish remains to be seen. But it doesn't feel like the boys of SAMCRO will be squeezing their way out of this one. And maybe that's how it should be.
