3. Damon Pope

Jax Teller said it best himself, the club had never come up against anyone like Damon Pope before. He was the most dangerous gangster in Oakland, he rubbed shoulders with judges and senators, and could crush them with a phone call as easily as he could a bullet.

He would never have crossed paths with the MC if Tig hadn't run over and killed his innocent daughter in the wake of Clay's shooting. Immediately, he showed that he was one of the most ruthless men in the entire series as he burned Tig's daughter alive in front of him. His need for revenge for the murder of his daughter is understandable, but Dawn, just like Veronica, was innocent.

Pope also demanded half of the club's earnings from the cartel's cocaine, and the death of one member. Opie died because of the villain's need for revenge, and there wasn't a single thing Jax could do about it.

For the rest of season five, Jax and Pope actually formed a lucrative relationship, but the former knew that he could be crushed whenever the the fancy took the latter. Eventually, Jax managed to trick the mega gangster to get him alone with Tig, who was allowed to kill the man who burned his daughter alive. This was one of the most satisfying moments in the entire series.
