There is perhaps no one who put themselves through more for the sake of the Sons of Anarchy than Otto Delaney. He went to prison, and the favours he did for the club while inside just kept adding years on, until he was given a life sentence, and ultimately a death sentence.

He lost 90% of his vision, he bit off his own tongue, he murdered an innocent nurse to crush the RICO case he originally helped to set in motion, and he was routinely beaten and raped on the orders of Lee Toric.

All this came from his association with the club. All he asked for in return was for SAMCRO to look out for Luanne, but they failed. She was killed by Georgie Caruso, and the club lied to Otto about exacting their revenge for him. By the end, Otto's wife was dead, he had ratted on his club, and he had absolutely nothing left to live for.

When his death finally came, it was more of a relief for him than anything else. He antagonised Toric into attacking him, where he was able to stab him in the gut several times with the weapon Clay had smuggled to him. When he slit the former US Marshall's throat, he took a barrage of bullets himself, finally ending the constant pain and suffering his life had ultimately become.
