Sons Of Anarchy: Ranking Every Main Character Worst To Best

For seven seasons, Kurt Sutter gave the world the Sons of Anarchy Motorcycle Club. Living outside the law up and down the West Coast of America and across the pond in Belfast, the reach of the MC was far, but the lifeblood was the Redwood Original charter in Charming, California.

The club saw some violent years, came up against deadly enemies, and saw more of their fair share of death, betrayal, and heartbreak. However, while the storylines of the show were compelling, bordering on the utterly bizarre, they would have meant nothing without the characters that brought them to life.

The vast majority of the main characters of the show were outlaws, who at one time or another did things that should logically have made fans hate them, or at least stop rooting for them. However, they were built in such a way that very few could be called exclusively good, or exclusively bad at heart.

While some characters could have benefitted from more development, the show's main cast consisted mostly of well balanced, complex characters that helped make Sons of Anarchy as incredibly popular as it ultimately became.

As a member of the Sons of Anarchy Motorcycle Club, Happy was a great asset. He was never one to shy away from doing dirty work, he was as loyal as they come, and if anyone ever needed taking care of, he was more than happy to add another smiley face tattoo to his body.

However, as a character in the show, he was very one dimensional. He rarely enjoyed any actual character development deeper than being a hard worker and enjoying killing people. There was some comic relief from just how crazy he was portrayed, but Tig ultimately outshone him in this department.

This may be because Sons of Anarchy was David Labrava's first ever acting role. He is a real life motorcycle lover and was originally brought into the project as a technical advisor on the show before being cast as Happy. His acting chops certainly left something to be desired, leaving his character unable to have the same deep, character-defining moments that others could.
