Sons Of Anarchy: Ranking Every Main Character Worst To Best

There aren't many characters that went through the same journey in Sons of Anarchy as Opie Winston did. He gave the club absolutely everything he had to give, and though he struggled with it for a long time, he was arguably more committed to the MC than anyone else. He was Jax's pull back to true north, and his death sent his best friend into a downward spiral that he never recovered from.

Despite having to spend five years of his life in prison, he came out and committed to the club, and even the death of his wife at the hands of another member didn't drive him away. It was when his President killed his father that he handed in the towel.

Opie was one of the most heartbreaking characters in the entire series, who gave his entire life to SAMCRO only to be rewarded with death, misery, and betrayal. It wasn't even just the club that lied to him, it was his wife. Though he thought he and Lyla were trying for a baby, he stumbled across her birth control stash and lost it.

All this just added together, and when he was killed in Stockton, he finally found the relief and peace that he never would have been able to in life. He ultimately gave his own life to save Jax, but in reality, he was desperate for a way out, and he saved himself as much as anyone.
