Sons Of Anarchy: Ranking Every Main Character Worst To Best
1. Jax Teller
Like Gemma, Jax was a complicated character of contradiction. He was a victim of his own internal war between being a member of the Sons of Anarchy, and being a good father and husband, and every move he made to bring himself away from the life only forced him into sinking deeper.
His mission to get the club earning money without breaking the law saw him commit acts even worse than running guns, and though he wanted to make changes within the club, his time as President saw him act no differently from Clay. He still ran his own personal agenda, and made big decisions behind his brothers' backs.
To begin with, Jax acted as the moral compass for the entire show, but as it went on, he evolved. In time it wasn't about helping the club, it was about getting him and his family out, before his sole motivation became revenge. Was Jax actually a good man by the end of the series? It's hard to say.
This is what made his character so compelling. This constant struggle and the perceptions of good and bad, and sacrificing everything for his family. Jax Teller was the heart and soul of Sons of Anarchy, and without him there wouldn't have been a show at all.
