Sons Of Anarchy Series Finale - 10 Talking Points From Papa's Goods

2. The Final Ride

This entire season has been billed as the final ride, with accompanying hashtags and promotional materials, and that ended up being literal as Jackson Teller sat roadside for one last conversation with the ghost of his father. When a police officer attempts to apprehend him, Jax fires off a few stray shots to entice a chase, and before long Charming's Prince is being followed by a cavalcade of law enforcement vehicles that visually implied a funeral procession. There is where the earlier mentioned symbolism got a little overplayed. As Jax made the fateful decision to meet his demise via the front end of a semi-truck exactly like his father, he raised his arms to his sides in a manner resembling a crucifixion as the truck driver (coincidentally the same trucker that delivered Gemma to the site of her death) shouted "Jesus Christ!" right before plowing into Jax. The final image of Sons Of Anarchy was of a crow feasting on a loaf of bread as wine flowed along the roadside, an obvious representation of biblical symbolism. Jackson Teller died a free man on the open road, an outlaw with the police on his heels and a smile on his face.
