Sons Of Anarchy Series Finale - 10 Talking Points From Papa's Goods

3. New Leadership

In another powerful and emotional scene Jax arrives to meet the remaining members of the club for what's assumed is his appointment with Mr. Mayhem. Much like the vote itself, the first half of this scene is merely a fake-out for the audience, as Sutter does everything to make the viewers believe that the Sons are about to execute their leader, even going so far as to have him remove his gun for no reason at all. Instead it's revealed that was never the plan and Jax tells his brothers that he would never place that burden upon them, which makes far more sense than believing that his crew would ever agree to kill him. Then there's a heartbreaking goodbye, something that SoA has done so many times over the course of its run. One by one the SAMCRO president has a tear-filled emotional farewell with each of the men he's stood by, and it was really hard to watch. He handed over his president's patch to Chibs, who then chose Tig as his V.P., and left on his father's motorcycle as the audience tried unsuccessfully to fight off the feels.
