Space Force Review: 5 Ups & 3 Downs
Ups
5. Brad
Every comedy series needs its lovable oaf. For The Office, it was Kevin Malone, for Parks and Recreation, it was Jerry and for Space Force, we have Brad.
Not to be confused with the real-life Brad Gregory, who is a professor at Notre Dame, Space Force’s Brad is a One-Star General who basically serves as Naird’s receptionist. While he tries his best, he seems to be pretty incompetent and suffers from a lot of self-doubt.
Even during his first scene, Brad comes off as the kind, lovable character we have come to expect from Greg Daniels. Thanks to his upbeat attitude, he brings plenty of laughs to the table even when he is trying to be serious.
Watching actor Don Lake play off against Ben Schwartz in episode four is by far one of the series highlights. The two are at odds with each other when FLOTUS decides to pitch some ideas about the uniform. Brad is told to make it disappear by Mark as he heads out for a week in a habitat simulation. However, Tony has other ideas and insists they play along to improve relations with the White House.
