Space Force Review: 5 Ups & 3 Downs
2. Guest Stars
When it came to casting, Space Force didn’t hold back. The big budget show is packed with famous faces from Patrick Warburton to Jane Lynch nipping in for the occasional appearance.
In a surprising move, Lisa Kudrow rarely features. Out of the ten-episode run, she appears in maybe half., It seems strange given her prominent placement in the promotional material leading up. While that may have been disappointing for fans, the actress made the most of her time and gave some brilliant performances. Mark and Maggie’s conjugal visit made for one of the best moments in the show and hopefully she features more next time around.
Another highlight was Kaitlin Olson appearing for episode seven. The ‘It’s Always Sunny’ star plays an entrepreneur-slash-scam artist, Edison Jaymes. As a parody of the disgraced Theranos CEO, Elizabeth Holmes, she tries to sell her new invention ‘Skinny Fuel’ to the Space Force. Having dodged all scientific questions Mallory is asking, it’s revealed by her assistant that the fuel is unlikely to work. However, Naird has already agreed to purchase and use the fuel for the next launch. They don’t end up using the fuel, however the launch is a success and Jaymes leaves looking like she had played a part in its success.
