Squid Game: Every Major Death Foreshadowed

4. Han Mi-nyeo (Player 212) - Fulfilling A Murderous Promise

Squid Game
Netflix

Portrayed by actress Kim Joo-ryeong, Mi-nyeo survived until the fifth round of the Squid Game. In an order of their own choosing, the players had to make their way across a glass bridge. Some tiles would hold their weight, and others wouldn't.

Partway through the game, Deok-Su refused to move. With the players ahead of him having all fallen to their deaths, Deok-Su demanded that the others would have to overtake him if they wanted to proceed.

In a heroic act of self sacrifice, Mi-nyeo moved to Deok-su's tile and clamped her arms around his waist and threw herself from the bridge, dragging Deok-su with her. The duo quite clearly died from the fall, allowing the remaining players to cross the bridge.

The foreshadowing of this death (and the reasoning behind it) came shortly after the player's riot a few rounds prior. After Mi-nyeo joined Deok-Su's group, she warned him that she'd kill him if he ever betrayed her.

After already kicking her out of the team, Deok-Su clearly displayed that he was happy for Mi-nyeo to die if that meant he could secure safe passage over the bridge. There's nothing like being stabbed in the back by your team mates, eh?

Unfortunately for him, Mi-nyeo was certainly a woman of her word.
