Squid Game: Every Major Death Foreshadowed

3. Jang Deok-Su (Player 101) - Nowhere To Jump This Time

Squid Game
Netflix

Brought to life by actor Heo Sung-tae, Deok-su was Squid Game's resident baddie. Originally a gangbanger from The Philippines, Deok-su fled to South Korea as he owed money to both a Filipino casino and the mafia.

As we just mentioned, Mi-nyeo was responsible for Deok-su's death. During the fifth round of the Squid Game, Mi-nyeo jumped from the glass bridge as she held on tightly to Deok-su - sending them both crashing to their deaths.

Eagle-eyed fans will know that this was actually foreshadowed several episodes prior. When the players voted to suspend the game, Deok-su returned to his life of crime. It was during this time that he met up with an old gang associate. He told Deok-su that debtors from the Filipino casino had tracked him down to South Korea, but that's not all. Deok-su's associate had sold him out and low and behold, the debtors suddenly turned up.

As Deok-su had no money to give them, it seemed that violence was likely on the cards. In a bid to escape, Deok-su jumped from the bridge they were stood on and into the river below. It may have been a lucky escape, but it did foreshadow that the next time Deok-su would find himself on a bridge, he wouldn't be quite so lucky.
