Star Trek loves time travel. It's a common plot device that pops up in every series. Time travel has even been the crux of more than one Star Trek film. The number of ways it can happen in the Star Trek universe is shockingly high, via everything from transporter accidents to flying really fast around the Sun.
After finally getting the shuttle his cousin Gaila promised him, Quark and Rom decided to take Nog to Starfleet Academy on Earth. Quark also used the opportunity to smuggle an illegal and explosive substance. When the shuttle wouldn't drop out of warp, they used an explosion to slow them down. The combination of events threw them back in time, causing their shuttle to crash land in Roswell, New Mexico in July 1947.
If you're thinking this made the three Ferengi the Roswell aliens, you would be correct.
Watching humans from that era try to deal with Quark and his family was shockingly funny. There were some absolutely brilliant moments that came from confusions due to differences not only in species but in the era they respectively came from. Naturally, Quark tried to use the situation for his financial gain but gave up on it when he realised an alien autopsy was on the table.
