Star Trek: 10 Best Ferengi Episodes
3. Voyager: False Profits
Like most Alpha Quadrant species, the Ferengi made very few appearances on Voyager. Being thousands of light years across the galaxy from home tends to have that effect. But the Ferengi did manage to make an appearance or two. In the first episode of Voyager, the ship was docked at Deep Space Nine. This led to a cameo appearance by Quark, though it wasn't a huge role.
Later on in the series, Voyager came across two Ferengi in the Delta Quadrant who were posing a prophets to a species who didn't know better. The Ferengi arrived in the Delta Quadrant during The Next Generation episode "The Price." The Ferengi were in a bidding war with the Federation for a seemingly stable wormhole on the Alpha Quadrant side. It wasn't and the Ferengi who travelled through the wormhole were trapped on the other end, apparently in the Delta Quadrant.
This was one of the funniest episodes of not only Voyager but Star Trek overall. The Ferengi are frequently featured as comic relief, and were missed on Voyager. A rare appearance from the species was certainly welcome.
It was also an early connection back to the Alpha Quadrant for a series that, by its nature, was quite removed from it.
