Star Trek: 5 Biggest Examples Of Klingons Being Dishonourable

2. Ruling Without Wisdom

At the end of the Dominion War, things weren't going well for the allied forces of the Federation, Klingons, and Romulans. The Breen joining the opposing side of the war had a lot to do with this, but so did Gowron, Chancellor of the High Council. He may not have switched sides exactly, but by putting his own interests ahead of the Alpha Quadrant's safety, not to mention sending countless Klingons warriors to their needless deaths, he was pretty much playing into the hands of the Dominon and it's own allies. It is said that absolute power corrupts absolutely, and it was this that convinced Dax of the Empire's terminal dishonour, especially when considering the lack of Klingons who were willing to stand up against Gowron. The one who did though, was Worf, who not only challenged Gowron politically but somewhat physically as well. Worf stood tall emerging as the victor, with Gowron's body lying lifelessly on the floor, complete with sharpened blades to the chest. In another confusing example of what can be considered honourable, the lack of others willing to act was due to the idea that challenging the Chancellor during a period of war is, apparently, dishonourable. Those who to took no action were more than willing to celebrate at Gowron's demise though, cheering when Martok is named as his successor.
